DJ midi controller

Post by josh wickham »

I was thinking of getting one of these.

http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q= ... 1&oi=spell

I don't really want to spend much more money and they seem faily dope.

Any suggestions?

just seems cheaper than the $1000.00 for CDJs...I still plan on playing some public gigs here and there (sounds crazy I know)

Why spend any money at all.. point and click. Does all that pesky work 4 you. Hit the SYNC button and go. Perfect for your purpose.

I spent about a month researching various dj midi controllers a while back- and while there are a few options out there, I couldn't find anything that fit the bill. I just wanted something minimal - "platter control" and some basic transport buttons - and not the size of godzilla.

The closest thing I found were these guys: http://eks.fi/product.php?p=products&id=60 with built in sound card. I forget why I shied away from them though at the moment. Maybe it was the price.

There may be some newer stuff out now. That company also makes another mackdaddy controller, but it's up there in price.

edit: not sure why that pic isn't showing... go me

Reminds me of the thing Gui Boratto uses: http://monome.org/series/image - I wanna say I saw Imogen Heap using one as well, but maybe I'm crazy.

Why not just use a program that lets you map the keys of your keyboard to your specs. and run lines through a mixer. http://www.mixvibes.com/site/pageeng/page.php?x=home
buy the home version for $50 - $70 bones. Just a suggestion.
