buying a car

if you were gonna buy a new car and had a max of $50k to spend, what would you get??

what do you want this car for? how many people will you have in the car? do you need a lot of trunk space? do you want something speedy? something for long drives and road trips?

i'd go with a
celica gt-s
subaru impreza wrx-sti
acura nsx
honda s2000
mitsu lancer evo or eclipse spider
toyota mr2 spyder
the ford gt is about 3times more than what you have but its schweet

if you are looking for something to drive longer distances i'd stay away from mitsubishis and acuras of the 21 cars i saw broke down along i-10 on my trip to NOLA 1/3rd of them were acuras, 1 pontiac sunfire, and the rest were mitsubishis

I'd probably buy a Pontiac GTO or G6 and save the money that is left over. There's no real reason for buying a 50K car.

hey none of the cars i listed above cost $50k

if you must buy a pontiac hold out for the solstice... pontiacs are notorious for having aluminum engine parts which can crack at high temps caused by prolonged high speed driving or sometimes just rush hour traffic

all of the cars i listed before are good cars but i'd check the car mags before settling on a car if you have that much doh to work with

I don't care about engine parts. I used to have a '70 GTO and just really want one ofthe new ones. I have my car and I am happy that it starts every morning. That is all I really care about. Getting me all worked up....

lets see, i just need it to hold me, i want it to be comfy, i have to drive x-country at least once. i hate making decisions.

^ I love the 330... also, on that same note... the Pontiac Vibe is extremely versatile and gets great gas mileage (34 Miles per Gallon), and the silver ones without the body molding look really good.

that would work well for all the travelling you do between here and GA.

lots of good ideas so far, thanks everyone. i NEED a new car and just am clueless as to what i want. i sometimes drive around all the parking lots at work to see if anything catches my eye, but not so far. i'll keep y'all posted
