DIRTY SOUTH
“PURE EVIL / REVOLUTION”
Released 19th JUNE 2006
REVO2. Distributed by Z Audio.
Revolution Music presents it's SECOND release and again combines two heavyweight tunes with it's political agenda. The spinner includes a quote from U.S. political commentator Noam Chomsky and a link to his website and many of his essays.
This is not your average record label.
Dirty South, one of the hottest acts of 2006 return to Revolution Music for their third release of the year! Pure Evil picks up from where W.M.D (Dirty South vs. Contax – REV01) left off, making a political comment through their devastating breakbeat productions. This time they focus on the Middle East and how the U.S. and Israel influence the area.
Beyond the message, Pure Evil is a bassline monster guaranteed to go off at any big rave or festival this summer. Having been on dub for almost a year, its release has been eagerly awaited by those who know their breaks. This tune is also getting picked up by the new and fast-growing hardcore breaks scene. This is a peak time monster! It’s been smashing crowds throughout the Spanish festival scene and is a big favourite on BreaksFM.
Revolution, is a call to arms for all those who can see how the freedoms we think we enjoy are being slowly eroded away by governments under the guise of protecting us from the terrorist threat.
Rolling beats over a moody, rumbling sub- layered, rolling drumlines tempered with a high end flourishes and an eerie quality guaranteed to make your jaw drop and feet start tapping simultaneously…
These tunes are getting support right across the breaks scene and is being picked up by many DJ’s who don’t normally follow breaks but are into the message of Revolution Music.
