R&B legend and crooner Barry White died on Friday at the age of 58. White suffered from years of high blood pressure, which ultimately led to kidney failure.
White passed away yesterday morning around 9:30 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, according to White's manager, Ned Shankman.
White's influence on hip-hop is strong, as his music has been sampled time and again by numerous rappers.
After a long career in music and despite producing many classics, White didn't win his first Grammy's until 2000, for best male and traditional R&B vocal performance for his song "Staying Power."
White is survived by eight children.
