I can post images, but no longer have an avatar or anything (under profile)
i never had ANY dirty filthy avatars. NONE. so why cannot i have one anymore? Mine were always tasteful. The people having boobies being rubbed are still up. so whats the deal?

Sometimes my avatar disappears and I can't post one up again...then in a day or two it just comes back.

even tho i am not an admin here i can answer this- a general internet phenomenon. most of the time the place where you store your icon (host if you will) only allows items to be used for so long. yahoo and its affiliates will sometimes allow 2 minutes sometimes 2 days. msn is iffie as is photoisland, picture trail, and ofoto. also make sure when you post your link that you are LOGGED OUT befor getting link.... no matter what site you are posting from.
if you do a lot of graphic designs or scan your artwork you can try a site like deviant art

Im hosting the images on my own site
it wont even let me pick an avatar from the menu, nor add text, NOR add a signature underneath my posts.
Still can post images though. go figure

go into the profile section up there then go to the bottom
Link to off-site Avatar:
Enter the URL of the location containing the Avatar image you wish to link to.
Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 140 pixels, the height no greater than 140 pixels, and the file size no more than 2 KB.
if you right click on the picture you want and select properties then highlight the wesite address and copy then paste it in the spot
