Incredible! That's really all I have to say.
Miami's talented Trance DJ Edgar V. started off the night with an incredible warm up set. Instead of playing the type of Trance he's usually known for he gave the audience a taste of some excellent Miami style Tribal and percussive Latin beats...laced over some Trance and Progressive melodies.
PVD came on at around 11:30 and wasted no time in pleasing the crowd. He started off with Andrea Doria "Bucci Bag", and then went all out into some epic and emotional Trance. My personal highlights of the evening were when he dropped some of his own records, like "Another Way", and when he played Nu NRG's "Butterfly", and the older Nu NRG record "Dreamland". Excellent, excellent stuff. Also heard in the mix were records like Kyau vs. Albert "Velvet Morning", and a Dub version of 4 Strings "Let It Rain".
In the middle of the set PVD changed it up a bit playing a Breakbeat record, but the audience wasn't really feeling it so he went into some Progressive House, and even played the anthemic "Dark Beat" by Oscar G. & Ralph Falcon. He later headed back into full on Trance territory, even going into Scot Project style hard German Trance.
The audience was very mixed with a lot of tourists from both Europe and South America, as well as some Japanese tourists. Couple that with a good number of Miami and Orlando natives, including a lot of kids who were under 18 it seemed.
The vibe throughout HOB was incredible, and it's a shame Paul had to close his set at 2 (Sunday nights the club remains open till 3).
Paul Van Dyk at HOB was...

The show was completely amazing. It was my first time seeing him, except for at Ultra. PVD is a musical genius, definitely my favorite. Thank you, dahippieman, for putting up the playlist, and I agree with chris that the crowd was very international, very happy to see him, and very friendly- except for those dumbasses who tried to booty dance with us. I went nuts jumping up and down, it felt super great.. however, I was with way too large of a group who didn't feel like going to any after-hours thing... but that's okay, I'm more than thrilled that I got to see van dyk, and I can't wait for the next time...
^^^Paul will be at the HOB in New Orleans on the 18th of June. Also in Miami at Space34 on the 22nd of June. And He's playing a show in ATL in early July(Brent, whats that date?)
So if you wanna see him, these are definatly the places to be! I'll be at the ATL and NO show. Wish I could make it to Miami.

Damn Zewad, I think you get to see PVD more often than his wife LOL.
I don't know about seeing him two nights in a row. It might take some of the magic away if you hear the same songs again. Just go to the venues where he'll likely play longer sets - skip Boston (despite the awesome vibe at Avalon) and go to NY, skip NO but go to Miami, and if you can try, to see him in DC or Atlanta.

ive seen him 8 times now,... 3 times in this year already,... seeing him 2 nights in a row would be awesome,... i could hear his music over and over and over,.. i basically hear his stuff 24/7 anyway in my car etc.. Boston has a 2am shut down but i have friends up there to stay with and heard avalon is amazing,... ive been to 4 or 5 miami Space shows with him and its getting kinda boring,.. the intrigue about the NO show is that ive never been to NO and juts the whole road trip idea soudns fun and then to have PvD be at the end of it makes it worthwhile,.. ill have left for the military by teh time the DC and Atlanta shows roll around,.. Space34 6-20, i leave for army 6-24CHRles wrote:Damn Zewad, I think you get to see PVD more often than his wife LOL.
