We're very proud to announce the latest Ground Level Release, The 'Out with the new and In with the Old' EP by Pimpsoul, the artist formerly known as Darft Phunk!

Here's a bit about it:

This new 5 piece funk project are totally unique as it is comprises of two DJs, a vocalist, an MC and a saxophonist, who between them have over forty years worth of experience in the music scene. The brain behind this new act is Steve Jeffery a.k.a Darft Phunk who had multiple releases on Splank! Records, Breakin Even and Ground Level, each receiving massive support both with DJs and radio stations alike. Darft Phunk have headlined gigs from London to Liverpool, Cornwall to Croatia and last year, found themselves playing in front of 8000 people in Azerbaijan! This, the first original release as Pimpsoul, shows the two sides of Steve's musical persona! 'Shake What's Under Your Blouse' nods back to his production days at Darft Phunk, updating a track originally known 'the big O', to great effect with maximum squelches and bleeps and a bassline that funks like hell! On the flip 'Noggins Groove' featuring Claire G is a mid tempo funk breaks workout that almost harks back to the days of big beat, the original vocal that Claire provides adding a hip hop sassyness to the proceedings, this track's already getting props from all the main funk breaks players!
