For those that do not know, I have (had) herniated three disc in my neck. I was in a rear end collision awhile back, and then went to a chiropractor who didn't x-ray before making adjustments...
Anyway, the worst of the three was compressing the spinal cord at c5-c6 severely. For the last 6 months or so, I've been in excruciating pain on a daily basis.
On December 29, I had cervical arthoplasty (artificial replacement disc). IN short, I had major spinal surgery. While I am blessed that this procedure only incapacitated me for 3 weeks, I was out of work, unpaid for 3 weeks. On top of that is the huge debt that I have incurred from the surgery, the anesthesia, the 24 hour hospital stay (that alone was $60,000 before insurance). Needless to say, money is really tight at the moment.
My friends, scratch that, my FAMILY (namely Beni) was inspired to throw this benefit to help me during this difficult financial transition. I am blessed to have such amazing friends and family.
