Just got back from Detroit. Some notes.
I don't care if I ever go back to WMC.....Yes Detroit is that fucking awesome, besides it has Motown
Parties attended.
All three days of Movement. The last day rained so we went back to the hotel around nine. After parties attended
Yel 3 @ the Shelter. Speedy J five hour set was good although he tapered off the last hour or so. That place could use some AC, it was hotter than a sauna. For those that don't know The Shelter is where 8-Mile was filmed
Shit Show @ TV Bar. This party took partying to a whole other level.
Old Miami on Monday was a highlight for me. If you can imagine an outdoor BBQ with about 2000 people doing whatever the fuck they want then you might have a clue.
Walking three miles through the Ghettos of Detroit looking for a gas station was epic.
Jamie Jones made me lose my shit during the festival. Plastikman set was cool, but the three hour Richie Hawtin set destroyed.
Im on a Boat was a great party. Hawtin/Cassy/Corolla b2b2b for five hours
I didn't meet one person in Detroit that did not like Techno. Yes this included the 60+ year old cab driver from Angola.
Almost everyone seemed to be either a.) in a K-Hole b.) making kitty references c.) wearing a shirt with cat's/kitties on it. I have lots of good pictures and videos from the weekend. First time in Detroit and I will go every year. WMC just got scratched from my list, too much bullshit and too much money.

Yeah,,, We crossed over the Miami/Detroit border a few years ago..
The people in Detroit (From the maids to the bartenders to the cab drivers and cops) are just super midwesterner cool. You can have a good conversation with any of the. Why??? Because they are happy you are there and not so self absorbed and defensive as all the pricks in Miami.. The dollars goes further,,, food is good. Much more enjoyable experience all around.
Highlights for me.
After the Adam Bayer party shut down (Sans Adam Bayer set) got shut down.. Falling into the end of an even better party with Mark Henning and Alexi Delano who absolutly and literally tore the roof off of the only sound filled, air conditioned room I was in all weekend. The guy is sharp in style with mixing attack. BODY MOVIN was on the menu.
Kevin Saundersan in a Basement. Great sound dark sweety room. Smokin late ninties style freight train trance that had my old ass dancing like I didnt hurt all over.
Krack and Smack ... Super fun classy new style funk with just the right amount of cheese to make it recognizeable and hands in the air for everyone!!!!
Rob Hood was a totally diff kind of mind blowing techno machine. I would travel to see it again.. A concentrated technician to say the least.
Plastikman show was cool.
Chris Leibing overly Dope...
Stacey Pullen would have been great if you could actually hear the music. Sound on main stage was so low it I had to pay a visit to the people runnnig the booth who did not appreciate my attitude. They were too bust trying to make sure nothing got wet.
Super dissapointments.... Low volume on the main stage... the painful over use of filter bass cut sweeping breakdowns.. that would consume 2/3 of every song. Worst offenders Martinez Brothers, Marco Corola, Jamie Jones, Ida Ingusburger,,, whatever,, mostly the skinny guys in the feminine V Neck tshirts..
Oh yeah BTW Josh Winks should just go away for good.
