honestly, i've not bothered to post quite a few gainesville party flyers here over the past month....

From Miami With Love party feat Johnny the Boy was very big.

the BassCamp parties at the new Loft every Thursday have been fucking thick with people.

my Rx night is this Friday with Sketch & Pillager.

Steve Aoki is on the 5th...which will be fucking huge.

Michna of Ghostly International played Neon Liger last week(!)

Raiu/Pillager/Illustrain had a house party last weekend with mostly House, Electro & some DnB.

Throwback Thursdays at Lux has some very good djs playing old school hiphop & funk.

There are monthly Scratch Sessions at Reign in Orlando which feature some gainesville resident djs, Wax Atom, Technic & Robzilla.

Twitch is now taking place at University Club on Tuesday...they play Industrial, EBM & Electro and have a large crowd every week.

GrowRadio is now broadcasting from downtown Gainesville about 6-12 hours a day. They have every genre of music could want, including Electronic(!) and are openly accepting show applications. you want more EDM just go play it.

Sharab on Friday nights has Jazz, Funk & Chillout. things like Heliocentrics, Guru & DamFunk get played & there is vinyl so some of you djs should check it out.

Slick Idiot(KMFDM + Pigface) just played at The Laboratory to a very full house.

Endless Bummer Fest is coming up at Spin Cycle. same guys that did Total Bummer. there will be about 50 live electronic 'bands'...some of them noisy and/or total crap. some of them, like Birdfeeder, very dancable & fucking amazing EDM.

the Big & Hearty Music Festival is at the Alachua County Fairgrounds the weekend of Sept 4th. supposed to be 3 days, multiple stages, a LOT of electronic music or bands associated with it.

and to end my list...Blackwater Music Festival...at the Spirit of the Suwannee Campground...SOUND TRIBE SECTOR 9 & DISCO BISCUITS!!! I have no opinion on the rest of the lineup, but these two bands are coming near Gainesville & there has yet to be a mention on this board.

that was honestly off the top of my head Josh. i havnt been to all of those...thats just what has very recently taken place or what will be going down soon. some of them i'll be at others i wont. i would love to see STS9 & Disco Biscuits but the tickets are not cheap. anyway...the point is, many, if not all of those things would(should) be of interest to people on this board.

gainesville is really just over talking about the 2am law & bad clubs & bad djs & drama. at least, the part of gainesville throwing the above parties are over it. btw...did you guys know that there is a guy running for City Council named Ozzy that is already drafting a bill for a soft closing time on bars(3am)...its not huge, but its a start. if you support him, vote for him.

also...A.N.D.#4 is this Friday! it's at Club X...a new teen club where grove/boutique were downtown. yes, teen club. but the point is that with no liquor license they can stay open all night. so AND4 will be 9pm-5am. electronic music till dawn in the middle of downtown gainesville. again, no mention on this board.

Sketch, Pillager & myself will be playing two shows this Friday...at the Lab till 2, then sets at AND! peoples saying there is nothing going on? this is summer break week! lolol...

when heads are removed from holes in the ground, its fucking amazing what can be seen. and what COULD be posted on this board, if anyone on here paid attention.

I caught them in Atlanta. It was pretty cool but after about a half hour it was YAWN CITY... Hippies sure liked it

Sound Tribe you mean? yeh...serious hippy stuff the last few years. I've seen them play a live EDM set, like ranging from house to dnb...and an ambient set which was wonderful. i'm not into the jam bands & they seem to be lately. never seen the biscuits so i wouldnt mind. I'm hoping for some nice EDM headliners at the Big & Hearty Fest tho...been too long since proper Electronic was played in that warehouse!
