Jay-Z's New Label? Heavy And Halley?

OK, I am on the roll now.

Here is a rumor so good, that if it’s true I am going to be happier than NYPD at a gangsta rap convention. What I am hearing is music to anybody’s ears that is sick of the stale rap. I have been informed (whether accurate or inaccurate) that Jay-Z is in the process of developing a label that will house more “cerebral” rappers. There are no artists named yet, but think Mos Def, Common, dead prez as the sort of artist that will be signed. And, before the Black Album, Jay-Z did a lot of name-dropping (Common, Talib) and collaborating (dead prez) with non-traditional rappers. There’s something to this alternative label and Hov can make it happen – if he wants!

Here is another whopper for your weekend. I heard that Halley Berry and Heavy D might have a thing going on. That’s right, the HEAVSTER and HALLEY! I can’t believe it either. Sources say the pair has been seen together at several events holding hands. They’ve been spotted at dinner together too. Now Hev’s people say that they are just friends and have known each other for a long time. What happened to that light skinned fella from the Oprah movie? Easy come, easy go! They don’t call him Waterbed Hev and the overweight lover for nothing!

The Source has seen better days, but the new rumors about them are bugged out. Are they selling the whole company? I can’t call it, but I have heard rumors that Zino and Mays might be unloading the whole thing. Who is the lucky buyer? I haven heard a peep, which means it may be off. Now, one this is for sure, The Source has hired a lot of new people there so we’ll see how that goes.
They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!
