Talib and Madlib Got It For Free 1/3/07

Remember the days when you used to have to buy music? When people actually respected the art and artists and paid for the music the legitimate way? It’s been 7 years since Napster completely changed the commercial music industry, and it’s no secret the internet has been both a blessing and a curse to many aspiring independent MCs, producers, and djs. With 2007 here it’s no surprise that the same cats that came up in the internet era are embracing the technology and taking the next giant step forward. Warner Bros./Blacksmith MC Talib Kweli and Stones Throw producer Madlib have teamed up to drop Liberation, a full length and FREE internet only LP. While it’s obvious this is a collabo of epic proportions in the eyes of the independent scene, their motives are shrouded in mystery. This album could have garnered tremendous sales had they released a retail version of the project- So what gives? Are they trying to give something back to the fans? Is it a marketing ploy? Sample clearances? Who gives a shit. Download this right now at Rappcats.com and send them each a thank you note.
